When you send a video as a hosted link (the default), Vidgram tracks how prospects interact with it. You get real-time data on who watched, how much they watched, and what device they used.
Tracking happens on the Vidgram web dashboard, not in the Chrome extension. The extension hands the video off to Vidgram at send time; everything below β view data, notifications, dedup, dashboard β is managed by the Vidgram server and shown at video.vidgram.ai.
What gets tracked
Every time a prospect opens your video link, Vidgram records:
- View count -- How many times they opened the page.
- Watch percentage -- How far they watched (e.g., 0%, 45%, 100%). This updates as they watch, so you see the high-water mark.
- Watch status -- A progression from "sent" to "opened" to "watched" to "completed" (90%+ counts as completed).
- Device type -- Whether they opened it on desktop, mobile, or tablet.
- First viewed at -- The timestamp of their very first view.
- Last viewed at -- The timestamp of their most recent view.

Email notifications
When a prospect watches at least 25% of your video, you'll get an email notification. The email includes:
- The prospect's name and company
- How far they watched
- What device they used
- A link to your Vidgram dashboard
This is your signal to follow up while the video is fresh in their mind.

Using tracking data for follow-ups
Here's how to use the data:
- Watched 50%+: They're interested. Follow up the same day with a message that references the video.
- Opened but watched under 25%: They saw it but didn't engage. Try a different angle or a shorter message.
- Multiple views: They came back to rewatch. Strong buying signal -- prioritize this prospect.
- Completed (90%+): They watched the whole thing. This is your warmest lead.
What's not tracked
Videos sent as direct message attachments (using the "Send as Video" option) don't have tracking. The video file is sent directly to the prospect, so there's no hosted page to track views on.
If tracking is important to you, send videos as hosted links instead.
Dashboard view
Your video dashboard shows aggregate stats across all your videos:
- Total videos sent
- Total views
- Average watch percentage
- Videos by status (sent, opened, watched, completed)
Managers and owners can see stats for the whole team. Reps see their own stats only.

How deduplication works
If a prospect opens the same video link multiple times in quick succession (within 60 seconds on the same device), Vidgram counts it as one view. The watch percentage updates to the highest value from that session. This prevents inflated view counts from accidental refreshes.
